The Red Lotus Sea blooms on Nong Han Kumphawapi every cool season. The flowers are fully open at dawn and start closing as the sun gets strong, around 10:00, so you need to leave town before 6 am. With your own car you set the departure time.

Can I do the Red Lotus Sea and Ban Chiang in one day?
Yes. Ban Chiang is on the same road, so you can see the lotus in the morning and visit the Ban Chiang museum before lunch. The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, 09:00–16:00, and closed Monday and Tuesday.
