Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal data we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (PDPA).
This notice takes effect on 25 September 2026 and replaces our previous privacy policy. This English version is a translation for convenience. If the two versions differ, the Thai version prevails.
1. Data controller
O Car Rent (โอคาร์เร้นท์), a car rental business in Udon Thani, is the data controller under this notice. You can contact us at:

2. Data we collect, by channel
- Website contact form: name, phone number, email, LINE ID, pick-up and return dates, and the message you type.
- Chat and phone (LINE, WhatsApp, phone calls): name, phone number or chat account, messages, trip details and files you send us, such as a transfer slip or a location you share when asking for help.
- Online booking system on our booking page: the details you enter in the booking form, such as your name, contact details, pick-up and return dates, times and places, and the car.
- At pick-up: details from your ID card or passport, your driving licence, your signature on the rental agreement, and flight or hotel details (if any).
- During the rental: details of accidents, fines or traffic tickets related to the car you rent.
- Visiting the website: our web server may log IP addresses, browser type and pages viewed. For visit statistics, see section 8.
Some data, such as your driving licence and identity document, is needed to make the rental agreement. Without it we cannot rent you a car.
3. Purposes and legal basis

4. Recipients and transfers abroad
We do not sell personal data. We share it only as needed with:
- LINE, when you contact us on LINE @ocarrent
- Meta (WhatsApp), when you contact us on WhatsApp
- Google and YouTube: website fonts, YouTube previews and videos embedded in our pages, and Google Analytics if you consent
- StatCounter, our website visit statistics provider
- Our email and hosting providers, who send and receive our email and store our website data
- Insurance companies, after an accident or when a claim is made
- The police, for traffic tickets issued during the rental, and other authorities where the law requires
Some providers, such as LINE, Meta, Google and StatCounter, may store or process data on servers outside Thailand. Such transfers follow those providers' policies and the conditions set by the PDPA.
5. How long we keep data
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above and for the periods required by law. After that, we delete or destroy it, or make it anonymous.
6. Security
Only the team members who need it can access your data. The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use appropriate administrative, technical and physical measures to prevent loss and unauthorised access, use, change or disclosure.
7. Your rights
- Withdraw consent you have given at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdraw it.
- Access your personal data and get a copy, or ask how we obtained it.
- Receive or transfer (portability) the data you gave us in electronic form.
- Object to the collection, use or disclosure of your data.
- Erase or destroy your data, or make it anonymous.
- Restrict the use of all or part of your data.
- Rectify your data so it is correct and up to date.
- Complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe we do not comply with the PDPA.

We may ask you to verify your identity first and will reply within the period set by law. In some cases the law allows us to refuse a request, for example when we must keep data to meet a legal obligation.
8. Cookies and visit statistics
- StatCounter: counts website visits and is configured without cookies. It receives data such as IP address, device type and pages viewed, which we use only to see overall traffic.
- Google Analytics: used only if you click “Accept” in the cookie notice. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. The website remembers your choice in your browser, and you can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- Third-party content: YouTube previews and videos (loaded only when you scroll to them or press play) may give YouTube your IP address and technical browser data, under each provider's own privacy policy.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version is always published on this page. This notice takes effect on 25 September 2026.
